Outside of my dorm, I spend majority of my time at the Schottenstein Center. The Schott is top five one of the biggest gymnasiums in college basketball, seating more than 20,000 in attendance. As large as this gym is, the seating arrangement's are still tight and compact to make the gym as loud as possible for when big plays occur. Scarlet and Gray seats surround the arena, gray for those who sit in the student section and other areas of the lower deck. Scarlet seats surround the whole upper deck seating. Right where the upper and lower decks separate are the suites. The suites run all the way around the middle deck. On the court we play, thick red paints surrounds the edge of the court separating the in bounds to the out out of bounds. Center court is divided by the Ohio State's block "O", with Ohio State going through the "O". Two basketball hoops stand 94ft away from each other. On top of red paint where the two basketball hoops is the word "BUCKEYES" sitting right in front hoops in white painting. Fans enjoy the atmosphere at our games because they're always uptempo and upbeat. The thrill and the passion for the game that we display on the court is one of kind.

Place and Identity
Place and Identity is such a broad and interesting topic to me. Studying the theme of Place and Identity allows us to explore who we are as people and how our surroundings help shape us into who we are today. With everyone growing up in different places, we’re raised differently and taught different things. And as we all grow in the society that we live in today, we either respond in a negative or positive way to things. The reason I’m interested in studying “Place and Identity” as theme this year is because I’m interested in seeing how people react growing up in different environments. With my topic about gang related activities, I believe I’ll be able to explore a lot seeing that gangs are just about in every state and they play a large role in urban neighborhoods. Kids start off young willing to be a part of gangs and growing up they know nothing else. When trying to escape gangs, they often flee from the state looking to start over and pursue their selves down a better path, they tend to end up doing the same thing as before. As I said already, I’m very interested in exploring the theme “Place and Identity” because of how broad the topic is and how it shapes us into who we are today.
